ARTISTS PUT FORTH THE IDEA TO TAKE INSPIRATION FROM DIRECT OBSERVATION FOR PAINTING PICTURESQUE LANDSCAPE OF PUNJAB
To share the ideas for the projection of fertile and alluvial plains of Punjab through artwork, eminent artists and art critics participated in an Artist Talk titled “Landscape of Punjab” on March 11, the first day of Sargodha Literary Festival.
The session aimed at deliberating the role of art teachers and artists in shaping up the tradition in landscape painting and exploring the role of artists in highlighting the scenic beauty of Punjab through painting on various mediums.
- To preserve the history, evolution and popularity of landscape painting in the Punjab, the art works should be documented and preserved.
- To produce real time effect in the paintings, artists should take inspiration through keenly observing the beauty of Punjab.
- In digital era, naturalism and a realist style should be promoted
- Artists should showcase the love for the Land of Punjab and logics behind paintings and prop up the tradition of painting Punjab’s landscape.
